Gyms

The two gyms are provided with the latest strength-training and cardio equipment for a whole-body workout. In the ZSSw gym you'll also find a large dumbbell section.

Important: Whenever attending fitness training, please bring a towel with you and regularly consult the website (for any closure periods).

ZSSw gym

The ZSSw gym (340m2) is available for individual training with the latest strength-training and cardio equipment as well as a large dumbbell section. The facilities are rounded off by mini-dumbbells and various items of equipment for balance training.

You can register here for an introductory tour of the gym (how to use/adjust equipment properly, correct performance of exercises, etc.).

Opening hours

The fitness room in the ZSSw is open as follows:

Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday from 08:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. 
Sunday from 09:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. 

The fitness room in the ZSSw will be closed on the following afternoons due to ISPW classes:

  • Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Training in the ZSSw fitness room

Online registration is no longer necessary for training in the ZSSw fitness room. Access to the fitness room is controlled by a traffic light system directly at the entrance. When the traffic light at the entrance lights up green / orange, you can enter the fitness room. If the traffic light at the entrance lights up red, you have to wait at the entrance until a person has definitely left the fitness room and the traffic light lights up green / orange again. Before visiting the ZSSw fitness room, please also note the university sports protection concept, the hygiene recommendations of the BAG, and the following corona protective measures:

  • Training without symptoms - athletes and training managers with symptoms of illness are not allowed to participate in training in the fitness room.
  • Contact Tracing - Since online registration is no longer necessary, you must now leave your contact details on site in a registration list or use the "Mindful" app to record them.
  • We recommend you arrive on foot, by bike or by car.
  • Cloakrooms, showers and toilets are available in the institute building. The Unisport recommends, however, that if possible, you have already changed clothes and take a shower at home.
  • When entering the fitness room, please clean your hands with the disinfectant provided.
  • Please clean the handles of the devices after each use. Please do not clean the upholstery.
  • We would also like to ask you to act responsibly and to observe the protection concepts and all other measures that serve to minimize the risk of transmission of the coronavirus.

vonRoll gym

The vonRoll gym (170m2) is available for individual training with the latest strength-training and cardio equipment. The facilities are rounded off by mini-dumbbells and various items of equipment for balance training. The offer of an introductory tour is only available for the ZSSw gym. 

Opening hours 

Please note that the vonRoll fitness room will be closed from July 19 to August 11, 2021 due to repairs. Changing rooms/showers in the vonRoll area are not affected by the closure and are available. From August 12, to September 17, 2021 the vonRoll fitness room will be open as follows:

  • Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • Saturday: closed
  • Sunday: closed 

Training in the vonRoll fitness room
