Student Exchange Agreements
Exchange agreements form the necessary basis for student exchanges (semester exchanges). They can be concluded at university, faculty, department or individual degree programme level with the corresponding unit at the partner university.
UniBE International supports the departments and faculties that wish to establish and expand their exchange programmes for students.
- Exchange agreements within Europe (Swiss-European Mobility Programme / Erasmus)
- Exchange agreements worldwide (outside Europe)
Memoranda of Understanding
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets out the intention to cooperate and show mutual respect. An MoU sets out the parties’ shared understanding of the proposed cooperation.
Joint Doctorate Programs (Cotutelle de thèse)
If joint doctorate programs involve strategically important, longer-term international cooperation within which at least five joint doctorates are awarded, the University of Bern will support the drafting of a framework agreement.
Other forms of cooperation
Various departments at the university are responsible for other forms of collaboration that do not involve student exchanges (e.g. research collaboration, joint development of teaching and continuing professional development programmes, etc.).
Most such agreements (e.g. research agreements, third-party funding contracts) are concluded via the Legal Services Office or Unitectra.
