Awards
Every year, ENLIGHT awards a Sustainability Award and a Diversity & Inclusion Award to selected projects. Winners are invited to the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference, where they can present their project to a broad audience of lecturers, students and staff from all ENLIGHT partner universities.
ENLIGHT Sustainability Award
The Bern-based sustainability initiative Boat2Bag came third in the ENLIGHT Sustainability Award
The initiators process old and damaged inflatable boats, which are disposed of along the Aare River, into bags and various accessories. This creates a cleaner environment and encourages society to reuse goods. The project also aims to create circular economic opportunities by using a unique production method and collaborating with local businesses.
The award ceremony at the ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Conference in Uppsala provided an opportunity to give this local sustainability initiative international visibility.
The next Teaching and Learning Conference will take place in Bern from October 22 to 24, 2026.
