Application for admission as a student

You have an academic background and would like to start a degree program or continue your studies that you have started somewhere else.

The same admission requirements apply for refugees as for other prospective international students. You will find the individual requirements in the sub tab 'Requirements' or 'Application and Admission' of the relevant degree program.

Please observe the additional requirements for refugees for all degree programs in Human, Dental and Veterinary Medicine and the bachelor major and minor Sport Science 60 ECTS credits.

We do not offer any preparatory courses to prospective or new students.

Language skills

At bachelor level the language of instruction is German; except in the language programmes. Not native German speakers must present evidence that they possess a level C1 knowledge of the German language.

Some master's degree programs are offered in English language. Other programs are mainly held in German.

Check the language/s of instruction in the 'Basis information' box of the relevant degree program.

The 'German as a foreign language' unit and the 'Academic English Services' offer language courses to registered students.

Application deadlines

The same application deadlines apply for refugees as for all other applicants.
