Internationalizing teaching and strengthening mobility

The University of Bern supports anchor projects that enable long-term cooperation with ENLIGHT partner universities and embed cooperations in study programs at the University of Bern. Different types of projects can be submitted. The sustainability and continuity of the offer are decisive. The respective faculties must guarantee the sustainable implementation and continuation of the offer beyond the initial funding provided by this grant.

Supported are

  1. units such as study program modules or mobility windows
  2. preparatory measures for the development and implementation of Joint Programs / Double Degree Programs

The projects involve the University of Bern and at least one ENLIGHT partner university.

Step 1 - Establishing contacts between ENLIGHT universities

Step 2 - Submission of the application and deadlines

June 15, 2026 at the latest

Step 3 - Interview

After submitting the application

Step 4 - Selection procedure and decision

approx. 1-2 months after application

Step 5 - Project development

From summer 2026 until the end of 2027 at the latest

Step 6a - Implementation of the projects

Individually, may also take place from 2028 onwards

Step 6b - Approval of the curriculum change by the University Executive Board *

By the beginning of January 2027 at the latest

Step 7 – Reporting

* Changes to curricula are adopted by the relevant faculty at the end of the fall semester and approved by the University Executive Board by the beginning of January at the latest. Projects must be submitted by June 15 of the respective year at the latest. Applications submitted later can generally only be approved in the following year.
