UniBE International implements the university's central internationalization activities, ensures the university's presence in the international university and research community, and implements the measures decided to achieve the university's internationalization goals.

The Guild 
The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities The University of Bern is a member of The Guild, comprising 20 of Europe’s most distinguished research-intensive universities in 15 countries. This offers cooperation opportunities and provides members a common voice at the EU level

Joint-supervison Doctorates
For long-term international, strategically important research projects a joint supervision of doctorates is possible for PhDs, who are supervised by a professor at each university and conduct their research equally at both establishments

Mentoring program for intercultural learning through study abroad

Summer Schools
Promotion of the summer and winter schools which are organized at the university and support of the organization of international summer schools on bachelor and master level.

Additional Courses in English
UniBE International is sponsoring six additional courses in English to enlarge the course offer for English-speaking exchange students and to provide local students, who are unable to study abroad, with an international experience.

Additional courses in English - EnglL

For the eighth time, the University of Bern is able to support selected English-language teaching seminars. The aim is to offer English-speaking exchange students a greater selection of courses. Encouraging the participation of international students in courses across the faculties also provides local students who are unable to study abroad with an international experience.

MILSA

With funding from Stiftung Mercator Schweiz the University of Bern and the University of Technology Sydney are currently engaged in MILSA, a project that aims to develop a mentoring program for intercultural learning through study abroad. Specifically, students will be accompanied before, during and after their stay abroad in the framework of a mentoring program that will help them improve their intercultural communication skills.
