Mental Health

Mental health is essential to being productive in one’s studies and in the workplace. Nowadays, mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, etc. are very common worldwide. The WHO expects a strong increase in mental health conditions and calls to increase awareness about mental health and to seek help in time.

The mental health of university employees and students is important to the University of Bern, which strives to provide a healthy place to work and study, where the health of all is protected. Studying is challenging and can be associated with great pressure to perform as well as financial and perspective uncertainties. Working at the university also presents numerous challenges. The University of Bern takes measures to prevent and raise awareness. Psychological counselling supports students and employees in coping with the challenges of the work and study situation and thus contributes to equal opportunities in studies.
