As part of a dynamic culture of innovation, the Innovation Office supports students, researchers and clinicians in translating ideas, research and inventions into innovations. It thus strengthens the University’s role of creating value through knowledge for the benefit of society and economy.

Services

Advisory

We offer free, confidential, open advisory service, that provides discussion on innovative ideas, consulting on innovation related non-dilutive funding schemes and creation of personalized workshops. More specifically, we advise and offer feedback on:

  • Early ideas and entrepreneurial projects
  • Innovation funding (Innosuisse, BRIDGE and Eurostars/EUREKA)
  • Development of business model and market analysis, preparation of pitches, etc. (via personalized workshops)
  • Establishment and founding of startups or innovation collaborations 
  • Innovation impact: identify the impact areas (social, environmental, economic, or specific SDGs) of your innovation and how they can be measured and communicated

We can also advise faculties, departments, institutes and clinics on promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Outreach and Engagement Activities

Through outreach and engagement activities, we aim to foster a vibrant community of students, researchers and clinicians with an interest innovation, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship. Contributing to an “Engaged University”, our team facilitates networking and engagement opportunities with industry and society players.

Funding

We support the spirit of innovation, knowledge transfer and the first steps in entrepreneurship with internal funding instruments that enable researchers and employees to further develop and expand their ideas.

Infrastructure

We offer a space for exchange, events, interactive workshops and courses on all aspects of idea generation and innovation and guide UniBE start-ups looking to rent space on campus.
