IT skills

IT skills are now part of standard school education. Provide details of your IT skills in two columns. Left-hand column: name of the software or system. Right-hand column: assess the level of your respective knowledge.

You can also provide details of any IT skills that are specifically requested in the job advertisement in your covering letter. As with language skills, it is also helpful to provide evidence of your IT skills whenever possible with course certificates and reference projects. If you have taken part in web projects or have created your own website, you can provide the relevant website addresses.

If you do not have sufficient knowledge of software that is expressly requested in the job advertisement, you should state, if necessary, your willingness to acquire the lacking skill as soon as possible.

Key software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SPSS, Stata, R, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Publisher, Filemaker, basic knowledge of Apple, basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Browser, Internet knowledge.
