Leaving Employment at the University of Bern
Accident Insurance – Employment Relationships with Insurance Coverage for Non-Occupational Accidents (NBU) (employment level > 19.05 %)
We draw your attention to the fact that your non-occupational accident insurance coverage ceases at the latest one month after your employment termination date. If you are not in a new job with non-occupational accident coverage (NBU) and you suspended your accident coverage with your health insurance for the duration of your employment with the University of Bern, this insurance coverage must be reactivated on leaving employment with the university. You have the option of extending your non-occupational accident insurance for a maximum of 180 days beyond the end of your employment (“Abredeversicherung”). The relevant form with pay-in slip is available at the Human Resources Office info.pers@unibe.ch.
Pension Fund
On leaving employment, a leaving benefit is due from the pension fund. This amount is to be transferred to your new pension fund. Therefore, please fill in the following form and send it to the respective pension fund.
Bernische Pensionkasse (Bern Pension Fund, BPK): Austrittsmeldung (notification of termination form).
VSAO: Austrittsmeldung
