Legal framework
The quality management system at the University of Bern combines a range of goal-oriented, controlling and participatory instruments and committees. It thus fulfils its mandate for quality assurance and institutional accreditation as set out in the Higher Education Promotion and Coordination Act (Chapter 5). With this approach, it contributes to the university’s transparency and credibility vis-à-vis society and politics.
