Web conferences in lecture halls

The room can be used for various application scenarios:

• e.g. you can hold Zoom online meetings where every person in the room can be heard in the meeting without having to connect additional microphones.
• Participants in the room can share the content of their devices wireless with everyone (Sharepod).

The room is currently being tested. Please contact the facility service Hausdienst der Hochschulstrasse 4 for a reservation if you would like to use it. For further information, please submit a request via the Serviceportal (technical service = multimedia).

Lecture halls for video conferencing

In these rooms, the audio signal and the video signal of the lecture theatre system can be tapped. The lecture halls have a permanently installed camera or another video source (visualiser, microscope or similar). You must select the devices in the Zoom/Teams application. See table for designation.

Lecture halls for audio conferences

In these rooms, the audio signal of the lecture hall system can be tapped. These rooms do not contain a permanently installed camera. If you want video transmission, use your own camera or borrow one from the IT Services. You must select the equipment in the Zoom/Teams application. See table for designation.

* Note:

1. These lecture halls are NOT optimised for remote participants to make verbal statements that should be heard over the lecture hall speakers. Although it is possible, it can lead to audio problems (feedback, choppy voice, i.e. no echo cancelling). Limit yourself in these. 
2. The image of the Visualizer can NOT be transmitted to the Team or Zoom meeting.

USB microphones offer a rudimentary supplement to the existing built-in laptop microphone in rooms without a connection to the audio system. These only enable a one-way communication: The speaker's voice is transmitted to the Zoom meeting. Questions can be asked via the chat.

A USB microphone should be available in the following lecture halls. If there is none in the lecture hall, please contact the facility services of the respective institute: Hausdiensten des jeweiligen Instituts.

For video conferences with up to 10-12 people on site, you can rent mobile web conferencing equipment. The external camera and table microphones are connected via a single free USB port on your laptop.
