COST-Action: FAIRNESS und URBNET
Projekt
FAIRNESS
The European COST Action ‘FAIRNESS’ (CA20108): FAIR Network of micrometeorological measurements aims to harmonise, standardise and bring together micrometeorological and urban climatological measurement networks in Europe. Such measurement networks are often not operated by national weather services and their data is not available via portals such as the Copernicus Climate Change Service. The project created a European network of network operators, collected metadata on the networks and organised summer schools and workshops. The contribution of the Urban Climate Group at the University of Bern was to collect data from a good dozen urban climate measurement networks. 2022-2025
This project is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation-funded URBNET (213362). After collecting and cleaning the data, this project will use geostatistical methods to create heat maps for these cities and ultimately estimate the influence of green spaces on temperature.
