Wireless network (WiFi)
Employees and students of the University of Bern and other universities and colleges in Switzerland and abroad use the wireless network eduroam. Members of the University of Bern log in with their campus account and can also access internal university resources, electronic publications and applications. For guests, the wireless network public-unibe is available. For access, please contact your organizer.
Update of our WLAN infrastructure (eduroam) at the University of Bern.
Date of the changeover: August 13, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. (all day)
On this day, the old eduroam server will be decommissioned and replaced by the new one.
The new eduroam CAT profile can be installed immediately and at the latest after the changeover to establish a WLAN connection via eduroam. Use the time before the changeover!

...for employees and students
Connect to the eduroam network worldwide. If this is not available, use another Internet access (LAN/WLAN/mobile). A VPN connection provides an encrypted, secure and authenticated connection to the university's network.
...for members of Swiss or foreign universities
Connect to the eduroam network.
....for guests and visitors of the university
Guests and visitors of the University of Bern can use the wireless network public-unibe. This requires a login using your mobile number and a voucher. For a valid voucher, please contact your event organizer.
Update of our WLAN infrastructure (eduroam) at the University of Bern
In the course of this renewal, the previous eduroam server will be replaced by a new one.
At the same time, we are changing the login to UPN, i.e. the e-mail address must now be used as the user name
