Lifelong learning

Strategic objective: The University of Bern believes that learning is a process that continues throughout every phase of life. It offers specific courses and services that enable various internal and external stakeholders to participate in lifelong learning and share research-based knowledge.

The University of Bern actively addresses issues such as increasing access to higher education, recognizing knowledge and skills acquired via flexible learning paths and regional collaboration. By doing so, it recognizes the importance of lifelong learning and is increasingly integrating it into its culture. The University of Bern has set itself the goal of combining its transfer-oriented offerings (continuing education, Children’s University, courses for high school students, Senior Citizens’ University, Collegium generale, Forum for University and Society) under the umbrella term “lifelong learning” and presenting them with a shared identity.
