Action week against racism 2025 at the University of Bern
The United Nations proclaimed March 21 the “International Day to Overcome Racial Discrimination”. Every year, campaigns to combat racism are held throughout Switzerland for a week around this day. As part of the 15th Action Week against Racism of the City of Bern, the University of Bern is holding three workshops on the topic of racism and racist hate speech in university context.
You are kindly invited to take the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and work together on solutions to racism.
The workshops will be led by Tzegha Kibrom. Tzegha works as conflict counselor, mediator, coach and supervisor. Her focus is on peace work and the promotion of decolonization processes.
Self-empowered against racism – Empowerment-Workshops
The workshops focus on strengthening and empowering university members who experience racism and on developing strategies for coping with experiences of racism and racist hate speech.
Let’s talk about Racism - awareness-raising workshop
This workshop is open to all members of the university - students and staff at all levels. It serves as a space for reflection on the topics of individual, structural and institutional racism and marginalisation in education.
