LMS Supplementary Tools

In addition to the central LMS, the University of Bern uses other supplementary teaching and learning systems (such as Turnitin for plagiarism checks or Zoom). In recent years, licensing fees for these third-party tools have risen sharply. This increase in costs is creating funding gaps and harbors the risk that, should these tools no longer be offered centrally, individual departments or institutes will procure them independently. This decentralized deployment runs the risk of complying with neither the data protection nor the architectural guidelines of the university. Furthermore, tools currently in use must be evaluated regarding their value in relation to their costs.
