Science Hackathon
Climate Down the Aare - Make the invisible visible
26 - 27 March 2026, Mittelstrasse 43 and Hallerstrasse 12, University of Bern, 3012 Bern
Climate change is global, but solutions arise locally. At the 24-hour hackathon organised by the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Bern, students can work with real urban climate data to better understand and visualise the impacts of climate change. The aim is to translate scientific findings into clear, compelling and visually powerful formats in order to reach the public and decision-makers.
Students from bachelor's to PhD level are invited to participate, either as a team or individually. The focus is on strong ideas, creativity and communication, not complex modelling. Participation is free of charge, but places are limited.
