Literary readings 2017

Dictatorship

This year, the literary readings are devoted to a subject that has become unexpectedly relevant: dictatorship. How does literature contribute to an understanding of undemocratic societies? How does it represent the emotions of perpetrators, victims, bystanders or foreign witnesses? How does literature portray the effects of terrorism and surveillance and how does it reflect the fascination with authoritarian language, architecture and spectacles?

The Collegium generale literary readings are open to the public and entry is free. We reserve the right to make changes to the program.
