Recognition of qualifications

For many jobs, applicants will need their foreign qualifications to be recognized by a Swiss authority. This applies, for example, to jobs in health care, education, training and engineering. Switzerland cooperates closely with the EU and complies with the European system governing the recognition of professional qualifications. It is also possible for people from third countries to obtain recognition for their qualifications in Switzerland.
The first point of contact for general questions and for getting in touch with the right recognition authority is the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). 

There are some jobs that do not require a recognized qualification, but it may help to have a "recommendation of recognition." swissuniversities is responsible for issuing these recommendations.
