Lifelong Learning Center LLC

The University of Bern understands learning as a dynamic process across all stages of life. With its transfer-oriented offerings, it enables lifelong learning and access to research-based knowledge for various target groups.

Tasks

The Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) of the University of Bern combines the transfer-oriented lifelong learning offers of continuing education, children's university, student studies and senior university under one roof.

The LLC

  • serves as the central point of contact for lifelong learning at the University of Bern and coordinates the transfer-oriented offerings in close cooperation with the faculties and external partners,
  • develops these offers in a future-oriented manner and actively promotes innovation,
  • ensures high visibility and an attractive positioning of the offers through targeted communication and advertising measures,
  • supports the faculties and institutes in the planning, organization, application, implementation and evaluation of continuing education programs, 
  • offers its own continuing education programs, particularly in the areas of university management and leadership, university didactics and evaluation, 
  • promotes interdisciplinary exchange and networking for lifelong learning, for example through conferences,
  • anchors and reflects the topic of lifelong learning in all its activities in order to address current developments and challenges,
  • promotes a culture of lifelong learning through targeted initiatives and supports the positioning of the University of Bern as a leading address for lifelong learning in the region.
