Target audience

Leaders who want to advance the digital transformation in their company, as well as specialists/project managers in corporate/product/technology development or in innovation/information management.

Study goals

The participants

  • know the topics, methods and concepts of digital transformation and understand the digital acceleration of the economy and society,
  • understand which challenges and potentials arise in connection with the digital transformation in different business areas and at different business levels,
  • can plan holistic change management processes and implement them, taking into account new work concepts and sustainability,
  • can evaluate transformation projects against the background of organisational performance, customer centricity and employee orientation,
  • understand how to identify, assess and exploit innovation potential in the area of digital transformation in their own or other companies,
  • can independently solve practical problems in the field of digital transformation using scientific methods.

The  program consists of three modules and comprises 12 ECTS credits.

Module topics

The following topics are covered in the modules:

  • methods and concepts for capturing innovation, strategy development and competitiveness in digital transformation,
  • digital technologies, data management, cyber security and automation,
  • concepts for defining and strengthening the leadership and corporate culture in the digital age as well as for accompanying and realising transformation projects,
  • evaluation and optimisation of transformation projects based on the factors of organisational performance, customer centricity and employee orientation,
  • application of the learned concepts and best practice examples to their own company,
  • identification and realisation of innovation concepts.

The programme board can include further topics.

Rochester-Bern is a Swiss foundation cooperating closely with the universities of Rochester (USA) and Bern (CH). For over 25 years, we have been offering further education for executives.

Rochester-Bern faculty includes renowned academics from top business schools in Europe, Switzerland, the United States and Asia. Our professors have strong didactical skills and a solid foothold in the business world.

Admission requirements

  • Mid or senior-level manager with the potential for taking on increased responsibilities within the organization
  • University degree (or equivalent) plus at least 5 years of management experience (as a project or line manager)
  • convincing character with a team spirit
  • ability to set priorities and balance family, job, and studies
  • fluent in English

Exceptions to the admission requirements may be approved by the programme board «sur dossier». In the case of persons without a university degree or management experience, the programme board may impose further admission requirements to ensure that they can successfully complete the programme.

Prospective students who only wish to participate in individual modules may be admitted, provided that there are free places on the course.

The programme board decides on admission to the degree programmes. There is no entitlement to admission.

The price includes tuition, all required books / materials, lunches and refreshments on regular class days in Switzerland, matriculation and exam fees. The fee does not include accommodation in Bern / Thun or any airfare.
