Rochester-Bern offers a flexible, modular MAS program based on CAS programs in German or English:

  • MAS in General Management: three coordinated CAS, 
  • selected modules from other CAS programmes mentioned in the regulations below, or corresponding courses in the area of general management from the portfolio of Rochester-Bern Executive Programs,
  • plus a final thesis

Registration

The degree programme comprises at least 60 ECTS credits and is composed as follows:

  • three of the CAS programmes named in these regulations (at least 30 ECTS credits),
  • selected modules from other CAS programmes mentioned in the study regulations (cf. Documents) or through corresponding courses in the field of general management from the portfolio of the organising institution (maximum 15 ECTS credits),
  • MAS thesis (15 ECTS credits).

In the MAS thesis, a topic from one of the CAS degree programmes is dealt with in depth or topics from several CAS degree programmes are dealt with in an interdisciplinary manner.

Target audience

Experienced professionals and managers with several years of professional and (direct or in-direct) management experience.

The participants acquire comprehensive business knowledge to successfully master future management challenges in their environment and to achieve the greatest possible impact.

 

 

Rochester-Bern is a Swiss foundation cooperating closely with the universities of Rochester (USA) and Bern (CH). For over 25 years, we have been offering further education for executives.

Admission requirements

  • Mid or senior-level manager with the potential for taking on increased responsibilities within the organization
  • University degree (or equivalent) plus at least 5 years of management experience (as a project or line manager)
  • OR: 10+ years of managerial and leadership experience in lieu of academic qualifications (sur dossier application)
  • convincing character with a team spirit
  • ability to set priorities and balance family, job, and studies
  • fluent in English

Exceptions to the admission requirements may be approved by the programme board «sur dossier». In the case of persons without a university degree or management experience, the programme board may impose further admission requirements to ensure that they can successfully complete the programme.

Prospective students who only wish to participate in individual modules may be admitted, provided that there are free places on the course.

The programme board decides on admission to the degree programmes. There is no entitlement to admission.

Tuition fees

Program fees amount to the costs of 3 CAS plus CHF 3'600 for final thesis, supervision and grading amount.
The price includes tuition, all required books / materials, lunches and refreshments on regular class days in Switzerland, matriculation and exam fees. The fee does not include accommodation in Bern / Thun or any airfare.
