Each spring the Collegium generale invites members of the University community to a seminar in the Münchenwiler castle. The seminar is an opportunity to engage in self-reflection and provides a platform for developing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary skills in teaching and research.
The seminar is open to all members of the teaching and research staff, including doctoral and postdoctoral scholars. Participation is free of charge. For program and registration information, please see our website.

No contract (yet) with Elsevier for a new Read and Publish agreement from 2024

No agreement has yet been reached between the negotiating delegation and Elsevier for a read-and-publish agreement from 1.1.2024. Access to the published section is currently still available. In the event that they are discontinued, further information will be provided on alternatives for full-text access for members of UniBE, PHBern and Inselspital (UPD with Uni Account). Negotiations are ongoing. As soon as an agreement has been reached, information will also be provided on the conditions for free publishing in Open Access.

New read-and-publish agreements with Taylor & Francis

The University of Bern's existing read-and-publish portfolio has been expanded to include the agreement with the publisher Taylor & Francis.

Interdisciplinary Public Health Sciences (PHS) Course Program offered by the University of Bern

This structured course program aims to foster a comprehensive understanding of Public Health and develop competencies in key research methods and applications. Interviewtraining «It’s a Match! How to increase your chances in the job interview»

The aim of the project, which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, is to investigate how job interviews can be designed to make response behaviour more comparable between job applicants and, based on this, to validly predict future behaviour in the job.
In this context, we offer people who are currently looking for a job or who are interested in improving their interviewing skills (target group: doctoral students) to participate in a simulated job interview.

The University of Bern, by way of its «UniBE Short Travel Grants for (Post)Docs» funding program, supports short research stays abroad for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.

There are two submission deadlines per year, 01 March and 01 September.

Zur Überbrückung der finanziellen Schwierigkeiten kann die Sozialfondskommission einen Betrag von bis zu CHF 5000.- in Form eines Unterstützungsbeitrags oder Darlehens sprechen.
