Language Center

The Language Center offers courses in the University of Bern’s two main languages of instruction and research: German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and English for Academic Purposes (AE). Our focus is on the development of language skills for academic contexts, which also require intercultural competence. All courses’ target levels are in line with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). In addition, we offer a digital platform for language tandems for numerous target languages. The platform is provided by the University of Bern with partner universities and the Forum für Zweisprachigkeit.
