Workshop for female University staff

Public speaking: Engaging an audience successfully

Donnerstag, 11.06.2026, 09:00 Uhr

Facing an audience is stressful, even for seasoned speakers, yet it is critical for a researcher to present their work effectively. What is the secret to stage presence? How do you engage and guide listeners rather than merely recite results and conclusions? How do you inspire trust while facing stress-induced self-doubt? This interactive and practical workshop will provide you with concrete tools to manage the delivery of a talk and successfully engage your audience. With practical exercises of increasing complexity, you will work on space management, interaction with slides, your voice and your body language. We will give you tips to manage your stress. The result? You will be perceived as competent and confident. Throughout the day, you will receive feedback from both the trainer and your peers, acting as a test audience.
