Language Center
The Language Center of the University of Bern offers language courses in German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and Academic English (AE).
German as a Foreign Language (DaF)
Courses from level A1 - C1 for students and doctoral candidates enrolled at the University of Bern.
Academic English (AE)
Courses from level B1 - C2 for students and doctoral students enrolled at the University of Bern as well as individual advice on written work and presentations for doctoral students.
All our courses are listed in KSL.
Services
Course offer
The DAF courses cover all levels from A1 to C1. For exchange students, an integration course is held in the two weeks before lectures begin.

The AE courses cover the levels from B1 to C1. For doctoral students there is the possibility of individual advice on written work.

Placement test
Every course participant must take a placement test unless he or she has an official certificate that is not older than one year.

For students of the Bern University of Applied Sciences and the PH Bern
The courses are fee-paying for students of the BFH and the PH Bern.
