The aim of this sport is not merely self-defense, but also to develop strength and consolidate a feeling of harmony. Judo, which nowadays is frequently only practiced as a competitive sport, is based on standing techniques, although it also includes breakfall and floor techniques, in contrast to karate, for example.
Every judoka should be able to train here at the university and enjoy this activity. We strive to achieve this in all our training sessions. The aim of the introductory judo course is to enable all students to participate in the other courses on offer (including other combat sports) by teaching certain basic principles. Further details are available from the training instructors at each class or from the Unisport coordinator.
