Accepted publication types in BORIS

For detailed instructions on using BORIS, please refer to the BORIS handbook or attend one of our BORIS courses.

In agreement with the Executive Board of the University of Bern, the following publication types are accepted in BORIS:

  • Articles in academic journals
  • Books: monographs, collective volumes, source editions, textbooks, reference works
  • Book contributions: book chapters, chapters or sections in reference works
  • Reports, legal reports
  • Conference contributions: lectures, posters, abstracts, papers
  • Working papers
  • Qualification work: theses, habilitations
  • Editorial work in journals, book series and working paper series
  • Newspaper and magazine articles
  • Interviews in the newspaper, on the radio and television
  • Research data
  • Audiovisual material: audio files, videos, etc.
  • Patents

The following are not accepted:

  • Bachelor's and Master's dissertations expert and supervisory activities with regard to Bachelor's and Master's dissertations and examinations
  • Organization, running, chairing of conferences, podium discussions, workshops, etc.
  • Newspaper articles in which University of Bern staff members are cited (except for full interviews)
