Professorship for Anthroposophically extended Medicine

The University of Bern is setting up an associate professorship for Anthroposophically extended Medicine. This is based at the Institute of Complementary Medicine (IKOM) at the Faculty of Medicine and is financed by the University of Bern together with its partners Weleda AG, the Software AG foundation and the Verein zur Förderung Anthroposophischer Institutionen (the Association for Promoting Anthroposophical Institutions). Private lecturer Dr Ursula Wolf has been appointed to the position. The Institute of Complementary Medicine (IKOM) was set up in 1995 due to a decision of the cantonal council. Anthroposophically extended Medicine requires university medical training and is based on the regulations governing conventional medicine. However, it builds on these using aspects from the humanities and strives to achieve a modern, integrated form of medicine in teaching, research and practice. The University of Bern's partners, Weleda AG, the Software AG foundation and the Verein zur Förderung Anthroposophischer Institutionen (Association for Promoting Anthroposophical Institutions), want to support this approach by committing to this endowed professorship for Anthroposophically extended Medicine.
