LGBTIQ+

The University of Bern fosters an open and respectful work and study climate – also in terms of sexual or romantic orientation or gender identity of university members. The University of Bern adopts measures for the promotion of equality of LGBTIQ+ people. LGBTIQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intergender and queer or questioning. The + means that the list is not complete and that there are many more sexual and romantic orientations and gender identities.

University members who are currently in a transition phase have the possibility to change name and gender entry (only m or f) independently from any official entries.

Queerstudents

The “queerstudents” are a LGBTIQ+ group of the SUB (student association of the University of Bern). They organize various meetings and are engaged for LGBTIQ+ issues at the university.
