Personnel Development - Being noticed and supported
Performance and development goals are defined for and with all employees of the University of Bern. The relevant superior has meetings with them at regular intervals, giving feedback on their performance and conduct. These result in the perspectives for their further professional development which we support with all our power.
Young researchers are given particular support. The aim is to adopt suitable measures to help them produce outstanding work during their academic career. The Coordination Office for the promotion of early career researchers of the Office of the Vice President for Research has specific offers for precisely this purpose.
Education in the widest sense of the word
Life-long learning is very much a natural thing at a place of education. That not only applies to the profession practiced, but also the acquiring of important social competences.
The employees of the University of Bern are employees of the canton. Naturally, they can take advantage of the canton's wide range of training and continuing education opportunities. External training can also be supported by us financially if it contributes to your professional development. And of course the university itself has plenty to offer – not least because of its public lectures which are of course open to all employees.
