Sharing data and working simultaneously on documents
Employees and students of the University of Bern have access to 5 TB of storage space via OneDrive at Microsoft using the Campus Account. The data is stored in Europe and is only accessible with an account or share. Nevertheless, no sensitive data should be stored there. The data can also be shared and synchronized locally. Shared files can be edited synchronously with Office Online (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
These tools are provided by the IT Services of the University of Bern (without any further support).
Data exchange and forwarding
For the secure exchange of your data, the university's internal Campus Cloud is recommended. You can find further information here. Technical questions about using CampusCloud storage should be directed to cloudstorage@id.unibe.ch.
Another possibility of data exchange is to use an institute's own server or an institute NAS. Please contact the IT manager of your institute for more information.
The sending or forwarding of sensitive data (such as lists of grades or other personal data) by e-mail is not permitted. If you want to forward files, make sure that personal data is sent securely. Depending on the sensitivity of the data, this can be done with password, encrypted zip file or general mail encryption.
