The Bern Environmental Research Award promotes disciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the field of environmental sciences and sustainability at the University of Bern. Every two years, researchers are honored for outstanding scientific work that makes a socially relevant contribution or lays the groundwork for a better understanding of environmental and sustainability problems or their solutions. The prize is awarded for work that is of interest to politicians, businesses, and the general public and that is thought-provoking for practical applications. This award is particularly aimed at young researchers.
