Innosuisse

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Agency. Its mission is to support science-based innovation in the interest of the economy and society.

Innovation projects in all thematic fields are the main funding instrument. The results of such projects should be of economic or social benefit to Switzerland. Researchers at the University of Bern and the Inselspital can request funding from Innosuisse for an innovation project either in cooperation with an implementation partner or without (e.g., feasibility studies or prototyping of innovation ideas for which no implementation partner has yet been found). An implementation partner is in general a non-academic entity that will “use” the project results. In most cases, it is a for-profit company, often an SME and also Start-ups, who exploit the project results commercially, but other organizations (e.g., nonprofit or noncommercial organizations) can be implementation partners provided they create value in Switzerland and have an enterprise identification number (UID).

Innosuisse also supports a variety of other activities.
