Opening an account

Your salary will be paid into your Swiss account. You should therefore open an account soon after your arrival. (This generally does not raise any problems.)

To open an account, it is necessary to produce a Swiss residence permit. If this has yet to be issued, banks sometimes accept the work contract and rental agreement as temporary proof. Banks' requirements differ according to the country of origin and may change from one year to the next.
