University for everyone Collegium generale

Structure and organization

University-wide institute

The Collegium generale is a university-wide institute, reporting to the Senate. The Collegium generale is financed by the University of Bern, in individual cases, costs are shared by external bodies (e.g. embassies). Twice a year, usually in March and October, the Collegium generale convenes for its ordinary sessions and makes decisions regarding proposed programs, patronage and other matters.

Projects

Project topics are usually proposed by members of the Collegium generale. However, faculty members, students and other groups within and outside the University of Bern may suggest topics for inclusion. The projects are developed by representatives from a variety of disciplines, in cooperation with our academic staff.

Cooperation

The Collegium generale cooperates with organizations associated with the University of Bern, particularly with the «Forum for University and Society».
