The Library for Protestant Theology is the library of the Department of Protestant Theology of the Faculty of Theology of the University of Bern and a sub-library of the University Library Bern (UB). Its collection is intended for lecturers, assistants and students of the Faculty of Theology, theologians and other interested individuals.

Our library collection is estimated to contain 70,000 volumes and around 200 journals. The library extends over four floors. You will find an overview of the various departments and shelfmark groups and their locations on the noticeboard.
The long-term workplaces are allocated at the beginning of each semester and are mainly intended for use by students of the Faculty of Theology. Students currently working on a thesis are treated as a priority.

The Library Regulations Unitobler must be observed on the entire premises of Unitobler.
All registered users (Unicard or library card IDS) are entitled to borrow items. For this purpose, several self-service machines are provided. Borrowing regulations are based on the Regulations on Use of the University Library Berne.
Magazines and Books from our reference collection (marked with a red dot) are not for loan.
Please contact your local library for an inter-library loan.
For returning items a return box is provided. Please note the collection times indicated on the return box. Alternatively, items can be returned at the circulation desk of the Basisbibliothek Unitobler (BTO).
You can contact the library staff at any time for an introduction to the library. Groups are requested to register beforehand by telephone or e-mail.
