The Philosophy Library is a sub-library of the University Library Bern (UB). Its collections are primarily intended for members of the university, students and other specialists.
Books can be borrowed with dummies (except for non-lending collections). Items can be borrowed for a period of two months.
The documents cannot be ordered online.

The contents of the Philosophy Library correspond with the research priorities of the Institute of Philosophy. You can search for documents from the collection via swissbib Basel Bern.
Around 30,000 books are categorized on two platforms according to subject group/shelfmark. Around 30 current journals can be found in the foyer of the library.
Books and media can be borrowed at the newly created Unitobler platform or at the self-lending terminal with an IDS user card.
Registered customers (IDS library pass or Unicard of the University of Bern) may borrow books and media from the library. The conditions of borrowing and use are based on the regulations on use of the University Library Bern.
A terminal for electronic self-lending is available in the foyer of the institute for borrowing items from the open access collection. Further borrowing facilities: support platform (second floor), Basisbibliothek Unitobler (first basement floor)
Media from the non-lending collection, from reference and course reserve collections as well as journals are not available for borrowing but can be consulted on site. Introductory sessions to the library are offered as part of courses and on request.
