Vinetum Professor of Bee Health

Bees are important livestock, which have an impact on ecology and the economy due to the pollination service they provide. To counteract the recurrent deaths of entire bee colonies, a professorship for bee health will be established at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern. The professorship is made possible by the Vinetum Foundation, which provides overall five million CHF for a period of ten years. With its veterinary focus that is unique in Europe, the Vinetum Professorship for Bee Health is an important element in the global fight against bee mortality.
