Vice-Rectorate Teaching

The staff of the Vice-Rectorate Teaching support the units within the university in the preparation of courses and provision of teaching. They provide students with information and support before and during their studies.

The Vice-Rectorate Teaching comprises the following offices:

  • Development of Academic Programs
  • Admissions Office (ZIB)
  • Teaching Administration Systems (TAS)
  • Support Center for ICT-Aided Teaching and Research (iLUB)
  • Cantonal Matura Commission (CMC)

Staff of the Vice-Rectorate Teaching

The staff of the Vice-Rectorate Teaching supports the Vice-Rector Teaching in planning and leadership, as well as in process management. In addition to being responsible for the topic of digitization in teaching and quality assurance in the areas of "teaching" and "students", the staff also manages various projects to promote excellent teaching and support students.

Development of Academic Programs

The Development of Academic Programs Office advises program coordinators and institutes on both the creation of new and the further development of existing study programs and coordinates the tasks entailed by this.

Admissions Office (ZIB)

The ZIB helps with all questions concerning admission to study at the University of Bern, semester registration and removal from the student registry following graduation.

Teaching Administration Systems (TAS)

The TAS office operates the Core teaching system (CTS). The CTS supports (legally) secure processes for courses, examinations, grade administration and degrees.

Support Center for ICT-Aided Teaching and Research (iLUB)

The iLUB supports teaching staff and researchers in their endeavors to enhance teaching and cooperation through an adequate deployment of information and communication technologies (ICT).

Cantonal Matura Commission (CMC)

The Cantonal Matura Commission is the body advising the Ministry of Education on questions of secondary education and is responsible, in particular, for the school-leaving examinations for admission to university.

Information concerning the equivalence of the former first university qualification (licentiate / diploma) and the new master's titles.
